First deviation of 2013!
A christmas present i did for my cousin, I was looking through a book i took out of the university library ('Wildlife photographer of the year' 1997 edition) and found this beautiful photo of 2 fox cubs who appeared to be kissing, or atleast rubbing noses with each other. It was by a photographer called David N Olsen and the photo was titled 'Red fox cubs,' when i saw it i had the urge to paint it :D
Unfortunately i can not seem to find the photograph online, if anyone comes across it please let me know :)

I am not 100% happy with it, I ended up painting it on christmas eve and had another painting to do for another family member, and so i did not have time to do a background :(

Alrighty, so lets see. The picture itself is a charming piece of work, taking a popular art subject and giving it a heartwarming traditional treatment. That said, the lack of detail on the left fox is a bit distracting, as the fuzzy outline and use of white on the hind legs gives it a feeling of insubstantiality. The use of shading on the fur though, especially on the right fox, (It looks the better drawn one to me) makes up for it by lending the picture credible texture.

I would say while not amazing, its definitely not terrible at all, and is very pretty to look at, and would be something to favorite. I smiled at this picture.

Have a nice day. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
