Description

16x20 inches
Acrylic on canvas

A birthday/christmas present for my little sister, she asked me to paint her a lion which i also let her choose the reference photo. She originally wanted a butterfly on his nose but preferred it without. :D
She loves the Lion King, and so named him Simba.
I realize the dots where the whiskers are should be more visable but I didn't like how they were coming out when i put them in, so i left them out...

a very accurate acrylic painting on canvas, if i hadn't taken a better look, one would believe to be admiring a majestic photo of a lion which is not entirely the case. It is indeed majestic and beautiful although it is not a photo, in fact it is better than that,it is painted with a type of paint i personally find hard to use but the artist seems to me very capable in creating exquisite masterpieces. the colors are very well organized, the shadow is perfectly placed especialy around the eye which is also a very well executed paint job of vibrant green.
